Regina Security Tosses Underworld For "Someone"

The Tattler has learned through extensive interviews on Old Port that members of Regina Security are currently "pulling out all the stops", along with a few finger nails, in the search for a person. They are leaving no flop house un- searched and no organ legger freezer un-tossed in their search for the missing body. Who could be important enough to warrant such attention from the men in suits? Either no one knows, or more likely, everyone who does know thinks that this matter is too close to the heart of the problem to risk spilling the beans. In the mean time, business on the dark side is remarkably slow, as people make certain necessary repairs to their stockpiles and establishments.

Film Shooting Delayed As Dirk Dries Out

Dirk Savage was seen two nights ago cutting a wide swath through the Purple Oyster Up Port. Although he frequently brought rounds for the house it isn't certain if the entire house had any more to drink collectively than Dirk did that night. Always the flamboyent playboy, Dirk was seen leaving in the Purple Oyster in the company of one attractive young woman; a woman that bore no resemblance to Corina Ling-Raleigh, who has frequently occupied Dirk's arm during his time on Regina.

Dirk has been known to go on some legendary benders over the years, but he is known to never miss work. Previously Dirk has confined his out of control carrousing to the breaks at the end of the movie. So it was somewhat out of character for Dirk not to appear for the scheduled shoots of his film, Major Case Squad yesterday and today. Although none of the film crew seemed to know his whereabouts, his abscence did result in a suspension of the filming.

The Regina spokesman for the Shick Clinic of Cogri stated that he is unable to confirm or deny that Dirk Savage is one of their patients because of client confidentiality rules. Although the spokesman pointed out that the clinics are advertising many specials this time of year for the treatment of problems like Dirk's, and that it is a fine time of year on Kogri to "step into a new life style". Or is that a new liver?

Corina Treated for Burns at "Secret Clinic"

Droyne Skin Used in Grafts

The recent assasination attempt on Corina Ling-Raleigh left her with serious burns on her hands and feet. These areas are not only painful, because of the large number of nerves in them, they are also notoriously hard to get to heal correctly even with skin grafts because people insist on using those parts before they are healed adequitely.

The best medical treatment ever devised for healing those burns is to use grafts of Droyne skin, which is supple and not damaged by movement even while healing. The rub comes in that Droynes will not voluntarily surrender their skins. Obviously harvesting sentients skins against their will, even for use in a medical treatment would be both unethical and illegal under Imperial law.

However, Regina has been a home to a number of "under appreciated medical specialists" since the neutral zone made high tech medical treatment expensive and in some cases unavailable. The trade off was that there was no one enforcing awkward Imperial laws here either.

The Tattler has obtained private financial records of Corina Ling-Raleigh, as well as the testimony of an employee of a local organ legger, that document Corina's payment of one million credits to that organ legger for "unspecified services". What better source for sentient skin than a parts broker? The employee stated that he didn't know for sure what Corina was getting for her money, all he knows is that they never picked up a DNA sample at the agreed drop (necessary to find a matching body in the case of a transplant or "core job") and they never delivered a body. The employee, who obviously insisted on his anonymity, said that he was puzzled at the time about what she was getting for her money. He said that the only thing that really seemed odd, was that the money transfer was prior to the fire.
