Carthusian Order
The strictest contemplative order of the Terran Catholic Church. Their monks are bound by vows of silence and perpetual prayer. They can neither beg nor work outside the monastery and rely solely on the royalties from each bottle of Chartreuse sold to support the monastery. The recipe for this liquor is a strict secret with only three monks from each chapter house being privy to the compound of elixirs from rare and exotic herbs. To maintain secrecy, these monks blend the cordial in the attic of the current distillery on La Belle. Attic pipes pump the cordial downstairs for distillation, and typical workers carry on from there. Compagnie Française de la Grande Chartreuse bottles and distributes the cordial, though it's execs often grumble about the difficulties of trying to turn a profit for over scrupulous monks.

Chartreuse
A liquor produced from an ancient Terran recipe by the Carthusian Brothers on La Belle. The color "Chartreuse" was created to describe this liquor. The formula for this cordial is compounded from the elixirs of 130 herbs and essences and its recipe has remained the highly guarded secret of the Carthusian order, who rely on the royalties from each bottle sold to support the monastery. A rich digestif, Chartreuse comes in a pale green and yellow. The green version is 110 proof and its spicy mint flavor is a bit much for most people; but the yellow version, with it's soft honey undertones and lower proof, is more easily swallowed. Chartreuse is perhaps best described as an acquired taste and may be better as a color for most imbibers. Although it is a Terran product, the green version has found favor amongst many Vargrs as an after dinner liquor.

Cyberpotty
A product of Gendye, it was designed as the ultimate in toilets. In addition to heating and cooling units, it had entertainment features, such as computer links, reading programs and a Tri-D viewer. However, the programmers at Gendye probably designed it as a joke item and therefore endowed it with artificial intelligence and a sense of humor. Unfortunately, the marketing guys weren't in on the joke and actually began production of the item and released it for public sale. There were several "ugly incidents" before the item was recalled. Rumor has it that there are some of the units still in circulation, that Gendye was not able to find during the recall.
